THE AFC METHOD

Don’t guess. Diagnose.

A practical sequence for turning a symptom into an evidence-based repair.

  1. Listen

    Describe what happened. Note unusual sounds, when the cycle stopped, and what changed before the fault.

  2. Observe

    Record the exact code and model number. Look for visible symptoms and compare them with the model’s service information.

  3. Test

    Follow the model-specific diagnostic procedure. Use the specified checks and readings to narrow down the cause.

  4. Confirm

    Check that the evidence supports the diagnosis. After repair, follow the prescribed verification cycle and check the original symptom.

Know your limits. Disconnect power before opening an appliance. Leave energized electrical testing, gas work, and sealed-system work to a qualified professional.
